Subject: RECOMMENDED CLASSIFICATION PLAN AMENDMENT Statement of the Matter - The City Council amended the classification plan for Miscellaneous employees on August 7, 1979, by adopting Resolution No. 5869. This action was taken to implement changes to the plan which had been recommended by the city's consultant RALPH ANDERSEN and ASSOCIATES. One of the changes accomplished was to adopt a classification description and title of ASSISTANT LIBRARY DIRECTOR at Salary Range 38. At that time the position should have been designated as a Management position to be consistent with other Management designations. It was not. Therefore, staff is forwarding for council's consideration a change of designation to management status for the classification of ASSISTANT LIBRARY DIRECTOR. Exhibit 1. Ordinance No. 1231 , amending the Carlsbad Municipal Code to provide for inclusion of the position of ASSISTANT LIBRARY DIRECTOR as a designated management position with the City of Carlsbad. 2. AN ORDINAKCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 2, CHAPTER 2.48 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 2.48.030 (7), TO ADD ONE POSITION TITLE TO THE MANAGEMENT LIST. WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council concurs that the addition of the position title of ASSISTANT LIBRARY DIRECTOR to Exhibit A of Resolution No. 6185, the deletion of the position title of ASSISTANT LIBRARY DIRECTOR from Exhibit A of Resolution No. 5853, is necessary to implement changes to the Carlsbad Municipal Code, Section 2.48.030 (7); - NOW, THEkFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1.
