Subject: MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDMENT REGARDING TRANSFER
OF LOCATION OF BUSINESS LICENSE OPERATIONS
Statement of the Matter
Effective July 1, 1980, the business license operation
transferred to the Finance Department and is now under
the direction of the Finance Director.
In order to make the Municipal Code consistent with this
action, the attached ordinance deletes the title of City
Clerk, and inserts the title of License Collector.
The use of the term License Collector was chosen to
eliminate the need for any further change if the business
license operations should ever be transferred in the future

2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 5 OF
3 THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT
OF VARIOUS SECTIONS TO CHANGE THE TITLE OF
4 THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR BUSINESS LICENSE
COLLECTION5 :
6 The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does
7 ordain as follows: , •
8 SECTION 1: That Title 5, Chapters 5.04, 5.08, 5.10, 5.12,
9 5.16, 5.20 and 8.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by
10 the amendment of Sections 5.04.020, 5.04.050, 5.04.070, 5.04.090,
11 '5.04.120, 5.04.130, 5.08.040, 5.08.150, 5.10.020, 5.10.050,
12 5.10.070, 5.10.090, 5.10.110, 5.10.120, 5.12.050, 5.16.320,
13 5.16.330, 5.20.030, 8.40.030, 8.40.070, 8.40.080, 8.40.110,
14 8.40.120, 8.40.130, 8.40.160 and 8.40.190, to delete the title
15 of City Clerk and insert the title of License Collector.
16 EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty
IV days afters its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to
18 the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at
19 least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after
20 its adoption.
21 INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a regular meeting' of the
22 Carlsbad City Council held on the 5th day of August ,
