Atty 1-d DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING SUBJECT: CLOSING OF APPIAN WAY STATEMENT OF THE MATTER Appian Way was constructed as a temporary access into the Royal Homes Subdivision east of El Camino Real. Elm Avenue was just completed thereby providing a fully improved street into this subdivision; thus t e necessity of maintaining Appian Way as a public street is eliminated. Staff is presently working on the necessary documentation to actually vacate Appian Way; however, it is staff's recommendation to close Appian Way now so as to break . 7 . the habit of vehicles using this temporary road for access into the subdivision. .. FISCAL IMPACT Insignificant fiscal impact. Signing and barricading will be done by City crews. Addi- tional processing costs will be incurred when Appian Way is vacated. EXH I B ITS 1 .
