Mgr. -- DATE : OCTOBER 7, 1980 SUBJECT : CURB, GUTTER AND SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM CONTRACT NO. 1088 STATEMENT OF THE MATTER Council approved funds of $50,000 in the 1980-81 budget for concrete replacement in the City. The Streets Division has conducted a survey of City streets and established a priority list for the replacement of curbs, gutters and sidewalks. I 2 80- 1 28 August 22, 1980 M Et40 RA NDU M TO: City Engineer (Contracts) FROM: SUBJECT: Curb, Gutter Sidewalk Replacement Program Director of Utilities & Maintenance The Streets Division has recently conducted a survey of city streets to establish a priority list for the replacement of curb, gutter and sidewalk throughout the city. Council approved funds in the amount of $50,000 (Account 1-128-2411) to fund this program, to be performed under contract, These total funds are avai 1 ab7 e. This priority list is attached. It is requested that you develop appropriate plans and specifications for this work and take all the steps necessary to get it under contract, to be completed prior to January 1, 1981. The work to be done by the contractor is as follows: remove and dispose of substandard concrete sections as indicated in the enclosed; prepare area, including removal of any local tree roots in immediate area of work; form and finish to original section; remove forms and clean up of area in a workerlike manner. City forces will provide for necessary tree removil, root pruning and stump removal prior to commencement of work. Personnel are available to niark out specific sections as outlined in the enclosure. The above recitations are true and correct. 2. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authrrized and di- rected to proceed to publish, in accordance with law, notice to contractors inviting bids for the curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement program, Contract .. No. 1088, in accordance with the plans and specifications.
