Statement of the Matter
The Encinitas Optimist Club has given the City One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00) to be used for a new softball backstop at Levance
School/Park.
Fiscal Impact
The City will have $1,000 toward the purchase of a $1,300 backstop. The additional $300 will be appropriated from the Parks Special Supp
Account. Construction will be completed by the Parks division.

Recommendat ion
It is recommended that the donation of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.
be accepted and Council adopt Resolution No. L9333.

The Encinitas Optimist Club has given the Parks and Recreation Department it check for $1,000 to help purchase a backstop at Levante School/Park. A backstop will cost approximately $1,300. The additional $300 will be taken out of the Parks Special Supplies Account 1-161-2670.
It is recommended that this donation be accepted and applied toward the cost of a new backstop. The donation
is to be deposited in Account No. 1-161-3900, Equipment.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
A DONATION OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00)
WHEREAS, the Ericinitas Optimist Club has given the City
Carlsbad a donation of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) to be
used to purchase a softball backstop for Levante School/Park;
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift pu
to Sections 37354 and 37355 of the California Government Code
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of t
City of Carlsbad as.f'o1lows:
1. That the recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Ci.ty Council accepts the donation of
One Thousand Dollars ($l,OOO.JO) on behalf of the
citizens of' the City of Carlsbad.
