AMENDMENT TO PARKS AND RECREATION ELEMENT
_ CASE NO; GPA-56
Statement of the Matter
The City Council, at your meeting of October 28, 1980,
directed the City Attorney to prepare the necessary
documents approving General Plan Amendment (GPA-56),
amending the Park and Recreation Element to revise the
park program in the La Costa Area. A resolution of
approval is attached.

RESOLUTION NO. 6357
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD,' CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
THE GENERAL PLAN BY AMENDMENT OF THE
PARK AND RECREATION ELEMENT (GPA-56) TO
REVISE THE PARK PROGRAM IN THE LA COSTA
' AREA,
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission did hold a duly noticed
public hearing as prescribed by law to consider amendments to
the Park and Recreation Element of the General Plan on October 8,
1980; and
WHEREAS, said amendment has met the requirements of the
City of Carlsbad Environmental Protection Ordinance of 1980 and
an Environmental Impact Report has been certified by the City

Council on April 27, 1976.
WHEREAS, the City Council, on October 28, 1980, held a
duly advertised public hearing to consider said amendment and
all other proposed amendments and at said time received the
recommendations, objections, protests and comments of all
interested persons desiring to be heard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the findings of the Planning Commission as set
forth in Planning Commission Resolution No. 1712 constitute the
findings of the City Council.
3. That the Park and Recreation Element, as adopted by
Resolution No. 3664, is amended as follows:
A. Item 29, on Page 16, is amended to read:
"29. La Costa North Community Park, Active, 2 it
acres Type C, cost estimates to be determined.

B. Items 33 - El Camino Glens and 34 - La Costa
North, are deleted.
C. Exhibit "A" to the Parks and Recreation Element,
on file with the City Clerk, which shows the existing and
proposed parks within the City of Carlsbad, is amended to delete
Alga, El Camino Glens and La Costa North Parks and to add the
La Costa North Community Park as shown on Exhibit A, attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the. 18th day of November t 1980
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Packard, Casler, Anear, Lewis and Kulchin
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
