Subject: SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
Statement of the Matter
The Manager's Office is in receipt of a letter from Bee Cee
Development Company. They wish to make an offer on the Buena
Vista Reservoir site. As Council is aware, some years ago this
property was declared surplus; the actual ownership is in our
Water Department.
The appraisal that was done on this property is approximately
seven years old. Consequently, staff is asking Council to
permit staff to acquire a new appraisal so that we may proceed
with the necessary steps for the sale of this property.

Recommend
Council, by Minute Motion, approve the hiring of an appraiser by the Manager's Office and proceed with the sale.
As an alternate proposal, Council may wish to consider this
as an affordable housing site. a

Gentlemen:
Several years ago, the City Council approved the concept
of selling some of the City owned properties in Carlsbad
and Oceanside.
We would like to submit our proposal to purchase the City
owned property on Buena Vista Street, north of Highland Drive
The old reservoir site - for the sum of One Hundred Thirty
Thousand Dollars ($130,000.00).
We recognize that some of the pumps will have to remain on tk
site, and we will provide an adequate easement to the City tc
service and operate them.
Our intentions would be to develop some homes on the site.
Please advise us of any action taken on this proposal, and tf
necessity for further action by us to accomplish the trans-
action.
