NO. 7 - CARLSBAD BOULEVARD
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
At the August 7, 1980 meeting, Council adopted Resolution No. 6254 setting September 23, 1980 as the date to be ready to convert to the underground system in Underground Utility
District No. 7.
with overhead pole removal scheduled for January 15, 1981.
The underground system was to have been completed by December 31, 1980
We have just been notified by San Diego Gas & Electric that due to unavailability of
materials, they will be unable to meet the previous schedule. They are now projecting
the date for pole removal will be March 31, 1981.
It will, therefore, be necessary'to adopt a new resolution setting the new dates.
FISCAL IMPACT
No significant impact; minor costs only associated with mailing notices to affected
property owners.

Per my letter of October 30, 1980, we will be unable
to meet the overhead removal date of December 31, 1980, due to
the unavailability of material.
The transformer is still scheduled to arrive in
February, and our crews will immediately install it. We are
looking at March 31, 1981, as a pole removal date.
We were going to remove all the poles except the
one in front of 3080 Lincoln, where the step-down transformer is.
However, our crews are unable to cut over four customers because
city inspections have not cleared; 305 Elm Avenue, 2715 Carlsbad
Boulevard, 2721 Carlsbad Boulevard, Carlsbad Boulevard at Tamarck,
Meter 321626.
Our crews have been moved onto budget projects and
maintenance work.
We are, at this time, sending letters to the customers
telling them of the delay.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNClL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESGLUTION NO. 6254 CHANGING THE
COMPLETION AND OVERHEAD POLE REMOVAL DATES FOR UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 7
WHEREAS, on August 5, 1980, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
adopted Resolution No. 6254 setting the time to be ready to connect to the
underground electric system in Underground Utility Distr'ict No. 7; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6254 established a completion date of the
underground system as December 31, 1980 with overhead poles to be removed
by January 15, 1981 ; and
WHEREAS, San Diego Gas & Electric has experienced an unavoidable delay
in receiving materials necessary to meet the foregoing schedule;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carls-
