Subject: ARJIS FUNDS
.. Statement of the Matter
The City Council approved participation in the county-wide Automated Regional Justice Information System (ARJIS) through a joint powers' agreement at at the October 14, 1980, meeting. Howev'er, the funds were not appropriated. Thus, this Agenda Bill is requesting the. necessary funds to allow the Pol ice Department to participate..
The most recent and reasonably accurate information to date.as to the.cost to the
City of Carlsbad to participate is estimated at $11,518. This breaks down to $5,452 for Carlsbad's share to maintain the ARJIS, update its programs and pay for general
overhead. It is then estimated that the City of Carlsbad will have to pay $6,066 for its user's time for information input and retrieval.
This cost was not included in the fiscal budget orginally, due to the inability of the Police Department to acquire accurate cost information.

ON OF THE crry COUNCIL OF TH R CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR AUTOMATED REGIONAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM (ARJIS) ,
BE IT RESOL!KD by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as fol'lows:
1. That the transfer of eleven thousand, five hundred and eighteen
dollars ($11,518) for participation in Automated Regional Justice Information
System (ARJIS) be made from the Contingency Fund to the Police Department
Police Investigation - Office Equipment Rental Account is hereby authorized
and approved.
2. That Department, of Finance Fund Transfer No. - 40 on file in said
departrxent and incorporated by reference herein is approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Calrsbad
at a regular meeting held on the --- 16th day of December , 1980,
by .the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Packard, Casler, Anear, Lewis and Kulchin
