City representatives agreed to’return to the School District
the 75 ft. x 300 ft. parcel east of the existing tennis
courts because it is not needed by the swimming pool for
parking.
Basswood Access.
City representatives agreed to return to Schqol District the
75 ft. x 300 ft. parcel east of the athletic field subject
to City retaining a 30 ft. strip for ingress and egress to
Basswood Avenue. I
Tennis Courts.
City representatives agreed to amend the pool agreement to
provide that School District may have the option to reclaim
the land now occupied by four tennis courts provided an equal sized parcel of I-and is provided at another location where tennis courts can be built.
In addition the School Board previously requested that the pool agree-
ment be amended to provide for a 15 year term from the date of
completion of the pool (1996).
Fiscal Impact
The assumed value of the 5 acres deeded to the City in 1977 was set at
$200,000. The market value in 1981 would probably be $2-$3 per sq. ft.
or more.

Recommendation
If Council desires to make these amendments, direct City Attorney to prepare documents to accomplish the above objectives.

Council Action:
1/6/81 Council approved Item No. 1 and No. 3 listed on the agenda bill , and approved amending the agreement to provide for a 15-year term from the date of completion of the pool. Item No. 2 will be placed on the January 20, 1981 agenda at the direction of Council.
1-20-81 Council approved Item No. 2 as listed on the agenda bill, to include that
if it is found in 3 years that the 30' access strip is not needed, it shall
be returned to the School District.
