Subject: PERSONNEL BOARD ACTION
Statement of the Matter
Police Sergeant JOSEPH E. HASENAUER of the Carlsbad Police
Department was disciplined for violation of Section 3.14 and 4.00 of the departmental rules by the Chief of Police.
Sergeant HASENAUER appealed the discipline to the City . Manager and subsequently to the Personnel Board. The board heard the appeal oA Monday, February 9, 1981 and upheld
.the action of the chief. Therefore, these results are forwarded for information.
Recommendation '
The City Council affirm'the action taken by the.Chief
of Police in accordance with the authority of Resolution
No* 3668, and adopt Resolution No. Lp4J'J.

MAYOR and MEMBERS of the
City Council of the CITY OF CARLSBAD
The Personnel Board in session 6:30 p.m., February 9, 1981 heard
the appeal of Police Sergeant JOSEPH E. HASENAUER. Following is
the finding of the board.
"The board finds that Sergeant HASENAUER has violated Section 3.14 and 4.00 of the Carlsbad Police Department Rules and
Regulations. The board recommends that
the appeal is denied, and that the discip-
linary action be upheld."

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, C LIFOKNIA, AFFIPaING
THE DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN BY THE
CHIEF OF POLICE IN THE CASE OF SERGEANT
JOSEPH E. IIASENAUER.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the Personnel Board
recomiendation on the Appeal of Sergeant JOSEPH E. HASENAUER; and
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the recormendation
2f the board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
Xty of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council affirms the action taken by
the Chief of Police in the Case of Sergeant JOSEPH E. HASENAUER.

PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Zarlshad City Council held on the 3rd day of March , 1981,
