Statement of the Matter
Council adopted Resolution No. 6427 authorizing formation of a Human Services Advisory
Committee. The Committee is charged with the responsibility of assisting Council
in clarifying -the role the City should play in providing Human Services.
The resolution called for appointment of five (5) community members -at -large representative
of a cross section of the Community.
The attached memo represents a list of candidates available for appointment.
In addition, Resolution No. Y_ z is attached should Council desire to make appointments
to the five (5) positions.
FISCAL IMPACT
The 1980-81 adopted budget provided $18,281 funding for staff support through June 30, 1981.
The 1981-82 budget has not yet been adopted. It is not anticipated that additional
funding will be required through the end of the current fiscal year.

RECOMMENDATION
That City Council appoint five (5) members to the Human Services Advisory Committee as
detailed in the attached memo and resolution.
Council Action:
3-17-81 Council adopted Resolution No. 6472, appointing Courson, Demy, Hallman, Glassner
and Rocha to the Human Services Advisory Committee.

Council adopted Resolution No. 6427 ou January 20, 1981 authorizing
formation of a Human Services Advisor; Committee to assist Council
in clarifying the role the "ity should play in providing Human Services.
The resolution called for appointment of five (5) community members
representative of a cross-section of the community.
Recruitment of persons to serve on the Committee has resulted in
thirteen (13) applications submitted as of this date.

A RESOLUTION OF THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING
FIVE MEMBERS TO THE CARLSBAD HU!4AN SERVICES
ADVISORY CO,%21ITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City Counci•1 of the City of Carlsbad, California, has
created and established a Human Services Advisory Committee by Resolution
No. 6427; and
WHEREAS, the Human Services Advisory -Committee shall advise and make
recommendations to City Council concerning the role of the City in providing
Human Services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following persons are hereby appointed to serve as members
of the Carlsbad Human Services Advisory Committee:
