PUBLIC HEARING
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
The City Council, on March 3, 1981, adopted Resolution No. 6324, a Resolution of Intention
for vacating a portion of Jefferson Street. The City Council set April 7, 1981 a& the
hour of 6:oo p.m. as the time, and the City Council Chambers, 1200 Elm Avenue, as the
place for a public hearing for all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
vacat ion.

The utility companies were notified of the proposed vacation and requested for a response
by April 3, 1981. The City Engineer will have this information at the public hearing.
Posting and publication of the proposed street vacation were completxd per the Street Va-
cation Act of 1941.
The Planning Commission has determined that the street vacation is consistent with the
General Plan Circulation Element.
A parcel adjacent to the freeway is not being proposed for vacation in order to preserve
access to an adjacent lot.
FISCAL IMPACT
Maintenance of an 84-foot right of way, as approved by Council on March 3, 1981, will
result in approximately 4,500 square feet of land to be returned to tax rolls (esti-
rmted land value $38,0001.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution No.GL/D vacating a portion of Jefferson’ Street subject to certain
reservations and exceptions.
