Subject:
AMENDING THE MISCELLANEOUS CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN
Statc-mnt of the Matter
Recent staff analysis has shown that relocating the collection of
cash fees from the Finance Department to the main lobby in
City Hall will assist city operations. In order to accomplish
this change it will be necessary to add a new classification of
RECEPTIONIST'CASHIER and delete the classification of Receptionist
Clerk. The new RECEPTIONIST CASHIER classification clearly
includes cashiering duties whereas the Receptionist Clerk does not.
Supervision and budget responsibility for this position will be
transferred from Central Services to the Finance Department.
The Finance Department's total personnel allocation will remain
the same, 9.5.- The RECEPTIONIST CASHIER will replace the present
vacant Account Clerk I position. Central Services will realize
one vacant position.
The recommended salary range is 17.
Fiscal Impact
Account Clerk I and the new RECEPTIONIST CASHIER classification
are at the same salary range. Therefore, there will be no
additional salary costs.
Exhibit
Resolution No. with Attachments A and B amending the
Miscellaneous Classification and Salary.Plan.
Recommendation
Adopt the resolution authorizing Classification and Salary Plan
amendments to include RECEPTIONIST CASHIER at range 17.
