STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
On April 7, 1981, City Council authorized staff to advertise for bids for the construction
of storm drains on Walnut and Sycamore to relieve flooding east of Carlsbad Boulevard.
Fourteen sealed bids were opened at 4 p.m. on May 6, 1981 by the City Clerk and are shown
on the attached Bid Summary.
of Sunland in the amount of $41,164 which is $10,000+ 1ess.than the Engineer’s estimate
of $51,200.
References of the Mladen Buntich Construction Co. have been checked and the firm has been
highly recommended.
FISCAL IMPACT
Budgeted funds have been carried in Continuing Appropriations for this project.
The low bid was submitted by Mladen Buntich Construction Co.:

RESOLUTION NO. 6520
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 1092 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STORM DRAINS ON WALNUT AND SYCAMORE AVENUES
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the con-
struction of storm drains on Walnut and Sycamore, Contract No. 1092; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this project was submitted by Mladen
Buntich Construction Co. in the amount of $41,164; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 1-170-3031 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carls-
bad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $41,164 by Mladen Buntich Construction Co. for the con-
struction of storm drains on Walnut and Sycamore, Contract No. 1092, is here-
by accepted and the Mayor and City ilerk are hereby authorized to execute a
contract therefor.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
at a regular meeting held the 19th day of , 1981, by the
following vote, to wit:
