SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR STOP SIGNS - THREE-WAY STOP ON MAGNOLIA
AT JEFFERSON AND FOUR-WAY STOP ON GRAND AT ROOSEVELT
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
At their May 4, 1981 meeting, the Traffic Safety Commission reviewed a request from Mr.
O'Plei1, 808 Magnolia, to install an additional stop sign on the east leg of the Jefferson
and Magnolia intersection. There are already existing stop signs on the west and south
legs of the.intersection. Mr. O'Neil is concerned about all the school children crossing
the streets at this intersection. Although warrants for a three-way stop are not met,
the Traffic Safety Commission recommended that a stop sign and crosswalk be installed on

CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.28 OF THE CARLS-
BAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.28.110
TO DESIGNATE STOP CONTROL ON MAGNOLIA AT ITS INTERSECTION
WITH JEFFERSON
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as
fol lows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 1'0.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code
is amended by the'amendment of Section 10.28.110 to read as follows:
tt10.28.110 Jefferson Street. Drivers shall stop where the following
described streets intersect Jefferson Street:
Arbuckle Place
Buena Vista Avenue
Home Avenue
Knowles Avenue
Laguna Drive
Las Flores Drive
Magnol ia Avenue."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its
adoption, and the City Clerk shall ceitify to the adoption of this ordinance
and cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within
fifteen days after its adoption.

WITH ROOSEVELT
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as
follows:

"10.28.270 Roosevelt Street. Drivers shall stop where the following
described streets intersect Roosevelt Street:
Beech Avenue

and cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within
