Subject: Compensation Plan for Council Aopointed Officials

Statement of the Matter
The City Council annually reviews the compensation plan for council appointed officials. As a result of this review this year, the council has asked that the following comoensation plan be adoDted: .
A. Compensation: Manager - $1862 biweekly Attorney - $1766 biweekly
B. All benefits of the management compensation plan (with the exceptions as listed on the attached resolution)
C. Auto Allowance: Yanager - $250 per month Attorney - $225 per month
D. Additional Compensation: Manager - $1,000
Fiscal Impact
The total impact of these compensation changes will be approximately cost can be covered by an approprizition of funds from the City Counc fund during 1981-82.

RESOLUTION NO. 6594
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A COMPENSATION PLAN FOR COUNCIL APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE 1981-82 FISCAL YEAR.
GIHEREAS, %he City Council has determined to make adjustments in
compensation for Council appointed officials;
MOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carl sbad as fol 1 ows :

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the Salary Schedule for City Council appointed officials for
the 1981-82 fiscal year shall be as follows:
City Attorney $1766 Bi-weekly
City Manager $1 862 Bi -weekly
3. City Council appointed officials shall recefve the benefits of the
flanagement Compensation Plan for the 1981-82 fiscal year, effective
June 7, 1981, except:
A, Section H shall not apply. Separation of the City Manager
and City Attorney is controlled by Municipal Code Chapters 2.12 and 2.14
respectively.
B. The City Attorney shall be authorized to receive the amount of
$115 per month in lieu of coverage under the City's health and medical
insurance plan provided by Section J.
4. The City Manager shall receive a car allowance of $250 per month.
The City Attorney shall receive a car allowance of $225 per month.
5. The City Flmzger shall receive a bonus of $1,000.
