SUBJECT: AGUA HEDIONDA BRIDGE - CONSULTANT AGREEMENT
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
On January 6, 1981, the Council authorized the consultant agreement in the amount
of $125,608 for design and engineering, and environment review for the Agua
Hedionda Bridge.

There id no environmental impact associated with this authorization.
RECOMMENDATION
Council authorize the Engineering Department to expend the $17,442.00 indicated
above for consultant services.

Funding for the Agua Hedionda Bridge Project
The continuing appropriations adopted as part of the 1981-82 budget package include $224,000 of federal revenue sharing funds foi- the Agua Hedionda bridge project. These funds were originally appropriated in 1980-81 as part of the mid term CIP adoption and were unused through the end of 1980-81.
The $224,000 is described in the CIP as being the city's share of both design and construction of the Agua Hedionda Bridge. The total project cost- of abcrut $1.3 million wi 11 be funded primari ly from the Federal Highway Bridge Rep1 acement and Rehabil i tation program fund (HBRR) .
The charges proposed by the City Engineer in the attached agenda bill are logical and correct charges against this project account. request additional funds when construction costs ar2 known. the engineering and environmental review are unanticipated costs according to the original plan for bridge construction.
