SUBJECT: TRAFFIC SIGNAL - LEVANTE AT EL CAMINO REAL
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
The County opened bids for the construction of the traffic signal at El Camino
Real and Levante.
$48,962.
agreement provides for City approval of the bids prior to award of contract.
The lowest responsible bidder was Lekaunas Electric at The County has estimated the total project cost at $66,158. The

The City's share of the project cost is estimated at $7,045.

The environmental impacts of the project were handled administratively by the
County.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council approve the project as bid and authorize a maximum expen- diture of $7,045 from account number 1-139-2450 and authorize the transfer of
this amount from the Contingency Reserve account. Adopt Resolution No. &/3 .

Bids for the construction of the traffic signal were opened July 2, 1981.
As indicated on the attached Bid Summary, Lekaunas Electric Inc. is the
lowest responsible bidder, having submitted a lump sum bid of $48,962.
Based upon this bid, estimated total project costs are as indicated in
the following tabulation:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSSAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT LEVANTE AND EL CAMINO REAL
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The transfer of Seven Thousand Forty Five Dollars ($7,045) from the
Contingency Reserve, Account 1-40. 1-139-2450, to the El Camino Real/Levante
Signal Account, No. 1-170-3123, is hereby authorized and approved.
2. The Department of Finance Fund Transfer No. 2 on file in said depart-
ment and incorporated by reference herein is approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
at a regular meeting held the 21st day of Jdy , 1981, by the fol-
lowing vote, to wit:
