MODULAR COSTS & AUTHORIZATION FOR
EXPENDITURES FOR CONSTRUCTION
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
It is proposed that the City of Carlsbad purchase a mobile modular building.

Attached are sketches of each operation to show the proposed improvements and revision:
to City Council.
The request to construct a parking lot north of Laguna is not included in this package
It will be handled as a separate agenda item at a later date.
F I SCAL I MPACT
There is $407,364 allocated to the Community Development Center (in Account Nos. 1-170-
and 22-170-3013) in continuing appropriations. Of this, $110,000 has previously been '
for additional property, leaving $297,364 available funding for this project.
The estimated cost of the future parking lot north of Laguna is $160,000.
ENV I RONMENTA L I MPACT
Environmental concerns were dealt with in The C.U.P. allowing the expansion and placem
of the modulars.
RECOMMENDATION
Instruct staff to proceed with the purchase of two modulars and approve interim fundin
a part of the Community Development Center project.
