Subject: Contract Agreement Extension for San Diego Gas E Electric
Beach Areas.
Statement of the Matter
Effective July 31, 1981 the City's contract agreement for lifeguard,
trash pick-up, and chemical toilet services with State Parks and
Recreation for the San Diego-Gas E Electric beach area and the lease
terminated. It has been suggested that the above mentioned services
be continued through September 13, 1981.
Negotiations with the State for acquisition of the two subject San
Diego Gas E Electric beach areas are now taking place. To date, no
decision has been made regarding the State take over.
. agreement between the City and San Diego Gas E Electric will be
San Diego Gas E Electric has informally indicated that they may provide
orassist in total funding for lifeguard, trash pick-up, and chemical
toilet services effective July 31, 1981.
Alternatives
1. Discontinue City's. obligation for services effective July 31, 1981
2. City provide services through September 13, 1981. (44 days)
' 3. San Diego Gas E Electric be responsible for providing funds for
State to continue service.
4. City and San Diego Gas E Electric jointly provide funding for
continuing services.

7-21-81 Council agreed to cmtirrue the contract thru Septder 13, 1981, with ~~
being respmsible for providing funds 'for the cmtinua~m of services.
