Statement 'of 'the 'Matter
Council previously authorized the Library Board of Directors
to seek a suitable location for a library in the southern
section of the city.
The Library Board has approved a location and is requesting
City Manager's staff to negotiate for a four acre site owned
by Daon Corporation located east of West Bluff Plaza.
The proposed site is to be used for a Community Center/Library.
Access would be available by extending Dove easterly to the
proposed property.

Recommendation
Authorize City Manager's staff to proceed with negotiations with
representative of Daon.
COINCM ACTION:
7-21-81 Council authorized the City Manager's staff to proceed with negotiations
With the representatives of DAM for a suitable location for a library
in the southern section of the City, with the determination of the need
for an architect or consultant to be left at the discretion of the Ctiy
Manager, and a report to returned to Council in two months,
