ENG - I CITY 3F CARLSBAD - AGENDA &ILL TITLE REFUND OF FEES FOR CARLSBAD TRACT 80-9, UNIT #1 (THE MEADOWS) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Finance Director to refund $17,960.98 to The Woodward Companies. DEPT. HD. CITY AllY CITY MGW- 2% ITEM EXPLANATION: On July 7, 1981, thesCity Council rescinded their Council action of May 5, 1981, approving the final map for Unit 1 of Carlsbad Tract 80-9. The developer has now requested that the City refund the unused portion of the fees and deposits collected by staff. Since the project plans were reviewed by staff up to the final map stage, staff recommends that no portion of the fees related to plan checking be returned. The amount of the remaining fees and deposits to be refunded is $1 7,960.98. The developer will eventually pay these fees and others to the City under the revised tentative map, but this refund will serve to eliminate the many unnecessary bookkeeping measures needed if the City were to retain the money. FISCAL IMPACT: There will be no fiscal impact, since the money to be refunded will eventfully find its way back into the City coffers when the units for the revised tentative map are finaled.
