RECOMMENDED ACTION:
TITLE: Purchase of Modular Buildings
Staff recommends the Council adopt Resolution No. b7/O , awarding the bid for the modular buildings to Scotsman Manufacturing and Leasing in the amount of $110,301.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On July 21, 1981, the City Council instructed the staff to proceed with the purchase of two modular buildings and approved funding for the Community Development Center project that included the purchase of the modular buildings, modifications to the Administrative Building and the construction of the parking lot.
Plans and specifications for the modular units were developed by the Engi neeri ng Department in cooperation wi th the P1 anni ng and Pol ice Departments. In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was published and Request for Bids was made. responses were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on October 9, 1981. The lowest responsive bid for the modular buildings was submitted by Scotsman Manufacturing and Leasing, 9292 Dowdy Drive, San Diego, California
Twelve
92126, in the amount of $110,301.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is a total of $304,152 available in accounts 04-170-3103 and 22- 170-3103 for the purchase of the modular buildings, modifications to the Administration Building and the construction of the parking lot. estimated cost for the modifications and parking lot is $165,000, leaving $139,152 available for the purchase of the modular units.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A BID AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO MODULAR BUILDINGS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
as follows:
1. That the bid of Scotsinan Manufacturing and Leasing, 9292 Dowdy Driv
San Diego, California 92126, is hereby accepted and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to execute a contract for the purchase of two modular
buildings for a total of $110,301.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsba
at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of Noverdber , 1981 , by
the following vote. to wit:
