RECOMMENDED ACTION:
If it is the desire of the City Council to change the name of Cedar Avenue to Christiansen way, your action is to adopt
Resolution No. 4,7t3L .
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The City Council, at your meeting of November 17, 1981, directed the City Attorney to prepare the necessary documents approving the street name change of Cedar Avenue to Christiansen Way (SNC- 17) to be effective January 1, 1982, said street being renamed in honor of B. M. "Chris" Christiansen. The resolution of approval is attached.

RESOLUTION NO. 6736
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING THE NAME OF CEDAR AVENUE TO CHRISTIANSEN WAY. APPLICANT: CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. (SNC-17)
WHEREAS, at their regular meeting of October 18, 1981,
the Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, did
consider a request for approval of a street name change from
Cedar Avenue to Christiansen Way, said street being renamed to
commemorate B.M. "Chris" Christiansen; and
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1981 the City Council held a
public hearing on the matter and received all recommendations
and heard all persons interested in or opposed to the approve1
of SNC-17; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the findings of the Planning Commission in
Resolution No. 1885 constitute the findings of the City Council
in this matter.
3. That the name of Cedar Avenue, a public street in
the City of Carlsbad, is hereby changed to Christiansen Way
effective January 1, 1982.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the

SUBJECT: Street Name Change/Cedar Avenue
At its meeting of November 17, 1981, the City Council approved
the street name change of Cedar Avenue to Christiansen Way (copy of map attached). Please be advised that this change becomes effective January 1, 1982. It is assumed that the existing street signs will be replaced by the Streets Department as soon as possible.
