RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. (e zri AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $15,000.00 FROM
THE CONTINGENCY ACCOUNT TO TH EEO ABATEM~NT ACCOUNT TO COVER THE COST OF
WEED ABATEMENT ADMINISTRATION AND CONTRACT SERVICES. (TRANSFER #49).
ITEM EXPLANATION:
THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS IS NECESSARY TO FUND THE CITY •·s ANNUAL WEED ABATEMENT
PROGRAM. SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS ADMINISTERING
THE PROGRAM AND BECAUSE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES ARE BEING IMPLEMENTED, THE FIGURE
OF $15,000.00 IS AN ESTIMATE ONLY.
FISCAL IMPACT:
THIS TRANSFER WILL REDUCE THE CONTINGENCY BALANCE TO $727,492.00. THE
MAJORITY OF THE $15,000.00 WILL BEUSED TO PAY THE CITY WEEK ABATEMENT CONTRACTOR
AND WILL BE RECOVERED THROUGH PROPERTY TAX ASSESSMENTS.

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING TI-IE TRANSFER OF
FUNDS FRa1 'IHE CONTINGENCY ACCOUNr TO 'IHE FIRE
DEPAR'IMENI' WEED ABATEMENr PROGRAM 1N 'lHE AM)lJNr
OF $15 000.00.
WHEREAS, the City desires to establish a fonnal accounting cost center
for the weed abatement program; and
WHEREAS, the appropriations must be made available within this account
for the purpose of enforcil1g the weed abatement progran; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the contingency account;
N:l-1, lHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that transfer nurber 49, on file with the
Finance Deparbnent, transferring funds from contingencies to the weed
abaten:ent program is hereby approved.
