At that time the consensus seemed to be that we would cooperate with Oceanside as much as possible. Monday afternoon 1 met with Dana Whitson, the Project Manager, who asked that we authorize a temporary truck route for the loaded dump trucks. The trucks would enter Carlsbad southbound on Carlsbad Boulevard, make a right turn onto Mountain View and proceed approximately 500 feet to a private easement giving access to the beach. They would exit the beach in Oceanside. Oceanside has assured us that the hauling would be limited to a maximum of fifteen working days with daily cleanup of the streets. Any damage to the streets would be repaired by Oceanside at the completion of the hauling. Working hours would be limited to 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and all traffic laws would be obeyed. There are approximately 54 residents, primarily in apartments, who would be inconvenienced by the trucks. Oceanside has asked that the City authorize the hauling route. They would appreciate a response as soon as possible. I would appreciate it it you could get the City Council's opinion at the workshop session tonight.
