I- RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 67pY accepting bids and awarding Contract No. 1098 for
the construction of the Valley Street Storm Drain to Collura Construction.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On January 5, 1982, Council authorized the advertisement for bids for the construc-
tion of a storm drain on Valley Street. Thirteen sealed bids were received on Feb-
ruary 2, 1982 as follows:

The Engineer's estimate on this project was $64,232. References have been verified
on the low bidder, Collura Construction, and staff recommends awarding the contract
to this contractor.
Environmental clearances have been obtained. This project is not in the coastal
zone.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted funds in the amount of $150,000 are available in continuing appropriations
(Account #3099).

RESOLUTION NO. 6788
~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 1098 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE VALLEY
STREET STORM DRAIN
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the construc-
tion of the Valley Street Storm Drain, Contract No. 1098; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this project was submitted by Collura
Construction Co., lnc. in the amount of $52,649.52; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 4-170-3099 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $52,649.52 for the construction of the Valley Street Storm
Drain, Contract No. 1098, is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute a contract therefor.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad held the IGth day of February , 1982, by the following
vote, to wit:
