RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. a;cepting the sum of One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00) bequeathed to the Carlsbad City Library. Authorize staff to
deposit funds to account 65-602-0519 (Library Gifts and Bequests).
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Josephine M. Dailey (Mrs. George F.N.), a long time resident of the City
of Carlsbad, named the Carlsbad City Library as a beneficiary in her will.
FISCAL IMPACT:
NONE
Council approval will be obtained prior to expenditure of funds deposited
to Library Gifts and Bequests Account 65-602-0519.

RE: Estate of Josephine M. Dailey
Dear Mrs. Hoder:
Under the terms of the -Will of Josephine M. Dailey,
she gave the sum of $1,000.00 to the Carlsbad Library. This
is an unrestricted gift to be used as the library sees fit.
T am pleased to inform you that the Executor has obtained
an Order from the Court authorizing the payment of this
bequest even though the Estate is not yet closed. Accord-
ingly, please find enclosed Estate Check No. 128 in the sum
Of $1,000.00 in satisfaction of this bequest, together with
a Receipt. Please execute and date the Receipt and return
it to me in the enclosed envelope so that it can be filed
with the Court.

5 WHEREAS, Josephine M. Dailey (Mrs. George F.N.), has bequeathed One
6' Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) to the Carlsbad City Library; and
7 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this bequest for the Library;
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Carlsbad,
9 California, as follows:
10 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
11 2. That the City Council accepts the sum of One Thousand Dollars
12 ($1,000.00) on behalf of the City Library.
13 PASSED APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
14 at a regular meeting held the 16th day of February 1982 by
15 the following vote, to wit:
16 AYES: Council Members Packard, Casler, Anear, Lewis and Kulchin
