RECOMMENDED ACTION:
If Council concurs authorize the following actions:
1. Adopt Resolution No. &fOs authorizing the City Manager to execi
the Assurance of Compliance form and accept the offer of support
the amount of $6,C30. ;
2. Approve proposed budget by minute motion.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
At their July 21, 1981 meeting, Council adopted Resolution No. 661 1 authi
staff to submit an application for a second grant from the National Endoi
for the Humanities (NEH). The purpose of the one-year project is to inc
community awareness of the Library’s unique local history resources whic
resulted from the first NEH grant; these include a twenty minute film --
Train Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore” -- and four research documents. Schola
completed the original research will lead a series of public outreach prl
Council authorization to expend the funds is requested.
FISCAL INPACT:
The estimated cost for the year-long project is $7,242. The grant award
$6,030. in-kind contributions would amount to $1,212. (Staff salaries,
office space, utilities and use of the Bookmobile in the promotion.)
