PCH TITLE: Purchase of Van EziizgE CITY Adopt Resolution No. Superior Trans Med in the amount of $21,378.00 and establish a Transportation Grant Fund for the purchase of the van and the operation of the program. bfOT'I , awarding the bid for the van to ITEM EXPLANATION: On December 1, 1981 , Council approved an agreement with CALTRANS for a grant of $41,500 to operate a transportation program for the elderly and handicapped. At its February 2, 1982 meeting, the City Council approved an Agreement with the Senior Citizens Association to operate a van transportation program. In accordance with Section 3.28.120 of the Municipal Code, Notice to Bidders was published and Request to Bid was mailed to seven vendors. Superior Trans Med, 14700 Spring Avenue, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670, was the only bidder to respond. The price of the van was $20,168.00, plus tax, for a total of $21,378.08. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of the van and the operating costs for 18 months will be supported by the grant. EXH IB ITS : 1. Resolution No. 680 7 2. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. That the bid of Superior Trans Med, 14700 Spring Avenue, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670, is hereby accepted and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract for the purchase of a Van for a total price of $21,378.08. 2. That there is hereby established a fund to be known as the Transportation Grant Fund. 3. That expenditures from said fund shall be limited to the following: A. To pay for tne purchase of the Van. B. To pay for the operation and administration of the transportation program.
