ITEM EXPLANATION:
At the January 5, 1982 meeting, Council authorized the advertisement for bid
recoat the 1.5 million gallon Elm Reservoir. On February 4, 1982, five seal
bids were received as follows:
1. Freeman General $17,850
2. Sparta Painting & Coating 22,000 3. Rustproofing, Inc. 24,850 4. Robi son-Burnap 32,780 5. Wilson E Hampton 34,960
The engineer's estimate for this project was $25,000.
Woodside/Kubota, our consultant for this project, has recommended awarding t
contract to the low bidder, Freeman General. Staff independently verified t
firm's references and concurs in the recommendation.

Funds in the amount of $30,600 were budgeted for this project and are availa
in Account No. 51-243-2450.

. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 1114 FOR THE RECOATING OF ELM RESERVOIR
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the

WHEREAS, the low bid received for this project was submitted by F
General in the amount of $17,850; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 51-243-2450 for this I
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
