Adopt Resolution No. bfQS/accepting bids and awarding Contract No.
1112 for the reconstruction of the sidewalk, curb and gutter to
E. J. Harris Construction, Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Engineering Department has prepared plans and specifications for
the reconstruction and replacement of the deteriorated sidewalks,
curbs and gutters at various parts of the City. On January 5, 1982
Council authorized the advertisement for bids for the reconstruction
of the sidewalk, curb and gutter. Sixteen sealed bids were received
on February 17, 1982 as follow:

The engineer's estimate on this project was $49,276. References
have been verified on the low bidder, E. J. Harris Construction,
Inc. and staff recommends the award of this contract to E. J.
Harris.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Budgeted funds in the amount of $50,000 (Account #1-128-2411) are
available for this project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 1112 FOR THE RECONSTRUCTtON OF SIDEWALK,
CURB AND GUTTER
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the reconstruc-
tion of sidewalk, curb and gutter, Contract No. 1112; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this project was submitted by the E.J.
Harris Construction Company, Inc., in the amount of $41,819.70; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 1-128-2411 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
as fol lows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $41,819.70, by the E.J. Harris Construction Company, Inc.,
for Contfact No, 1112 for the reconstruction of the sidewalk, curb and gutter
is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute
a con t ra c t the ref o r :
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
at a regular meeting held the 16th day of pb& , 1982, by the following
vote, to wit:
