RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Item Explanation:
The city conducts a spring clean-up week each year.
run concurrent with the Great California Resource Rally during the week of
April 19-25, 1982. Staff is recommending that the collection site be relocated
to the old Reservoir #2 site (Arland and Buena Vista) from Fire Station #1 and
the public be excluded from dumping. This will reduce the liability exposure
from after hours scavaging by residents and will reduce the amount of debris because of general dumping. Residential service by picking up large items or bundled trimmings will be as before. Coast Waste will provide drop-off box service (5) and the County has provided 75 dump passes for city vehicles.
Fiscal Impact:
It is scheduled this year to
Direct costs for salaries and wages is about $5,000. in the current budget. Scrap metal will be sold and about $500 will revert to the General Fund.

1. Triimings - tied in bundles 4 ft. long by 2 ft. in diameter.
2. Euilding Ihterial - wood treated the same as item 1. Small pieces will be placed in containers.
3. Collection Depot - closed to the public and private haulers will not
be accepted.
4. Collection Days - large items will be collected on not-mal trash day in the area.
