Adopt Resolution No. (&7/ accepting bids and awarding Contract No. 1116
for the construction of the Sunnyhill Storm Drain to Horizons Construc-
tion, Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On April 6, 1982, the Council authorized the advertisement for bids for
the construction of the Sunnyhill Storm Drain. Nine sealed bids were
received on-April 30, 1982, as follows:
1. Horizons Construction, Inc.
2. Mladen Buntich 3. Southwestern Equipment Rental.
4. Construction Engineers
5. Draves Pipeline 6. S 8 S Construction 7. Double D Underground Construction
8. D. L. Muns Engineers
9. Walter M. Harber E Son
$14,297.50 $14,450.00

The engineer’s estimate on this project was $20,940.00.
have been verified on the low bidder, Horizons Construction, Inc.
Staff recommends the award of this contract to Horizons Construction,

FISCAL IMPACT:
Remaining funds in the amount of $151,700 from miscellaneous drainage
(Account #04-170-3100) are ava lable for this project.

.A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 1116 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SUNNYHlLL STORM
DRA I ti
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for
:ontract No. 1116; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the construction of Sunnyhi11,Storm
t
Drain was. submitted by Horizons Construction, Inc., in the amount of
$14,297.50; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 04-170-3100 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $14,297.50 by Horizons Construction, Inc. for Contract
No. 1116 for construction of Sunnyhill Storm Drain is hereby accepted and the
Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a 'contract therefor.

PASSED, APPROVED AN3 ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
at a regular meeting held the 18th day of May , 1982, by the
