RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 67 / 9 appointing a member to the Serra Cooperative
Library System Advi sory Board.
ITEM EXPLANATION: -
The California Library Services Act became effective January 1, \jj'8, This
bill provides for, among other things, the creation of an Advisory Board
consisting of members from each library in the cooperative system. Since
the City of Carlsbad is a member of the Serra System, the City Council has
the right to appoint one member to the Advisory Board. The person appointed
must be a resident of Carlsbad.
Caroline Schindler was appointed to a two-year term June 17, 1980. Mrs.
.Schindler has requested the opportunity to continue to serve on the Advisory
Board, and to be reappointed.
The Library Bolard of Trustees, at its June 16, 1982 meeting, unanimously
endorsed the reappointment.

City Council, at its meeting of June 29, 1982, adopted Resolution No. 6919, reappointing you a member of the Serra Cooperative Library System Advisory Board. This term is effective immediately, and will expire in June, 1984. .
