ADDITION TO THE CHILDREN'S LIBRARY
Adopt Resolution No. 6C)sr , approving plans and
specifications and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for
bids €or the addition to the Children's Library.
ITEM EXPLANATION
As a part of the 1982-83 Capital Improvement Program, Council
authorized the design and construction of an addition to the
Children's Library. The firm of Design Haus has completed the
design and in order to proceed it is necessary €or Council to
approve plans and specifications.
Plans and Specifications have been reviewed by the Library
Director and the Building Department. The structural
requirements for a second floor have been included in the desig
as requested by Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The architects' estimate of $120,832 is higher than the
originally budgeted amount of $101,995, available in Account No
32-18-10-3124. When bids are received it may be necessary to
appropriate an additional amount to cover any differences.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK Tc
INVITE BIDS FOR CHILDREN'S LIBRARY ADDITION -
CONTRACT NO. 1115.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad h
determined it is necessary and in the public interest to
construct the Children's Library addition; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishin
all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation and o
expenses necessary or incidental for said project, Contract
1115, have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering
Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by
reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are
hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereb
authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in accordance
with Law, notice to contractors inviting bids for construct1
of the Children's Library addition, in accordance with the
plans and specifications hereinabove referred to.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of
City of Carlsbad, California, at a regular meeting held the
