ITEM EXPLANATION: awarding bid for office At its June 15, 1982 meeting, the City Council considered a recommendation from staff for the purchase of furniture for various offices and the lobby of City Hall. The Council returned the matter to the City Manager for re-evaluation and possible cutbacks. City staff has reviewed the requested purchases and recommends that the following items be deleted from the request if cutbacks are desired: 1. Swivel chairs 10 Council Chambers & Conference Room 4 Assistant City Manager 2 Executive Assistant 2, Cjnference Table for Personnel Department i. Lobby Furniture 4. Window Blinds for Lobby Total Reduction $3,816.96 $164.97 $3,703.10 $854.00 $8,539.03 It is recommended that the 11 items listed in the attached e*hibit be purchased at a cost of $5,176.45. FISCAL IMPACT: o~ July 21, 1981, Council approved $304,152 for the Community Development project that included the purchase of modular buildings, modifications to the Administrative Building, and the construction of a parking lot. Council authorized spending $110,301 for two modular buildings on November 3, 1981, The ~stimated cost of the parking lot was $155,000, The parking lot project has been abandoned, There is $174,360 available in Accounts 04-170-3103 and 22-170-3103 for the purchase of the office furniture and the remaining modifications to the Administrative Building. After the furniture purchase, there will be $169,183.55 remaining in these accounts. EXHIBIT: -l. List of Furniture recommended for purchase. 2.
