accepting bids and awarding +=- Adopt Resolution No. Contract No. 1113 for t e Improvement of Tyler Street to Palomar Grading and Paving Inc.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On 5/18/82 Council authorized the advertisement of bids for the improvement of Tyler street. Seven sealed bids were received on June 30, 1982 as follows:
1. Palomar Grading & Paving Inc.
2. Sully Miller Contracting Co.
3. T. B. Penick & Sons
4. Lewis Valley, Inc.
5. Sapper Construction Co. 6. Dyno Construction Co. 7. Collura Construction

The lowest bidder Palomar Grading & Paving was previously awarded the contract for La Costa Canyon Park (Phase 11). There were substantial delays on that project.
To avoid any delays on Tyler Street Improvement Project, staff contacted the contractor and obtained a letter indicating that the contractor saw no reason for delays on Tyler Street Project.
FISCAL IMPACT
The engineer's estimate for this project was $98,085.00 with
15% contingencies. This project will be funded by HUD, ACC. #15-18-40-3129.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
AUTHORIZING TElE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 1 11 3
FOR IMPROVEMENT OF TYLER STREET
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of

Carlsbad for Contract No. 1113; and .
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this contract
was submitted by Palomar Grading & Paving Inc., in the
amount of $79,322.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No.
15-18-40-3129 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $79,322.00 by Palomar Grading &
Paving Inc. for Contract No. 1113 for improvement of Tyler
Street is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute a contract therefor.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council
of the City of Carlshad at a regular meeting held the
day-of August , 1982 by the following vote to wit:
