RECOMMENDED ACTION:
City Council select members to serve on the newly created Design Review Board.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1254 creating and establishing the powers of a Design Review Board for the Village Redeveloptilent \rea and designating the Design Review Board as the Planning Commission for the Village Redevelopment Area. The Design Review
Board shall consist of five members, three of which shall be members
from the Planning Commission, two of which shall be members of the
Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee. Members shall serve one year terms and may be reappointed two consecutive terms. Appointements shall be made by the City Council.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE CARLSBAD DESIGN REVIEW BOARD.
WHEREAS, members of the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee and
he Pllanning Commission of the City of Carlsbad have been called upon to subinit
applications for appointment to the Carlsbad Design Revi-ew Board.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following persons are hereby appointed to serve as members of the Carlsbad Design Review Board for a term of one year.

RE-APPOINTmNT OF DESIGN REVIEW BOARD MEMBERS
As you know the appointments
Review Board expire in October. I have spoken with the members
of the board regarding their reappointment and they have all
expressed a desire to be reappointed to the board.
for those members of the Design
The term of office as yet is still one year. I will leave it
your discretion as to the possibility of extending the term of office for this board to two years. It would probably be more effective to lenghten the term of members. Please advise me as to procedure if you feel necessity to do so.
