ITEM EXPLANATION: The City has completed the installation of the new Hewlett Packard Computer System and can now dispose of the Singer Computer. All processes previously performed on the Singer can now be performed on the HP System. Maintaining the Singer s1stem past December 31, 1982 will serve no useful purpose. Estimated value of the Singer System is $5,000, Fiscal Impact: Operation of the Singer System past December 31, 1982 would cost about $1,000 per month. Funds from sale of the equipment will be deposited in the City's general fund. EXHIBI'l'S : Resolution No. 7c2..J.. authorizing the di~tosal of the Singer Computer System. } i J t l 1 l I i l I l l f I, l 2 3 4 ·RESOLUTION NO. 7073 --- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE SINGER COMPUTER AS OBSOLETE ANO AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SUCH COMPUTER EQUIPMENT. 5 WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined that 6 the Singer Computer System can no longer be used and is obsolete; and 7 WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City of Carlsbad to disposal 8 of this computer equipment. 9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, 10 California as follows: 11 1. That the above recitation is true and correct. 12 13 2. That the items listed in Exhibit "A" be declared obsolete. 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to proceed 14 to dispose of the items of obsolete equipment in the manner deemed to be 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 most advantageous.
