CM (HOUSING mD F!.EDE\‘ELoPr,!ENT co~~~IssIoN) clTy MGRm a RECOMMENDED ACTION: If the Council desires to provide compensation to members of the Carlsbad Community Development Commission, your action is to adopt Resolution No. 7ocj2 l ITEM EXPLANATION: The Health and Safety Code provides that members of the Carlsbad Community Development Commission may receive compensation. The amount of compensation is limited to $30 per meeting and a maxi- mum of four meetings a month. If the Council desires to compensate commissioners, there are funds available in the Redevelopment and Housing budgets to cover the costs. FISCAL IMPACT: I If the Commission were to hold two meetings a month, the estimated cost for the 1982-83 Fiscal Year would be $1,800. RESOLUTION NO. 7082 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE CARLSBAD HOUSING & REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Council has established the Housing and Redevelopme.,t Commission as a single operating entity to operate and govern the redevelopment agency and housing authority, and WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Law and the Housing Authorities Law provide for compensation of members, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to compensate members of the Carlsbad Housing and Redevelopment Commission as provided by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That members of the Carlsbad Housing and Redevelopment Commission shall receive compensation of thirty dollars ($30) per member for each meeting of the Commission attended by the member.
