RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No.appointing two Council Members
and one citizen as members of the Buena Vista Lagoon Watershed
Coordinating Committee.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Buena Vista Lagoon Joint Powers Agreement with the Cities
of Vista and Oceanside was approved by Council on December 21,
1982.
Item No. 5 of this agreement establishes the Buena Vista Lagoon
Watershed Coordinating Committee consisting of nine members -
two City Council Members from each of the Cities of Carlsbad,
Oceanside and Vista; and three public members, chosen one each
by the Mayors of the three cities.
The attached resolution would establish the Committee and provide
for Council appointment of the members.

5 WHEREAS, The Buena Vista Lagoon Joint Powers Agreement with
6 the Cities of Vista and Oceanside was approved by Council on
7 December 21, 1982; and
8 WHEREAS, Item No. 5 of this agreement establishes the Buena
Vista Lagoon Watershed Coordinating Committee;
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
11 City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
12 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
13 2. That the committee shall be formed consisting of two
14 Council Members and one citizen from the City of Carlsbad.
15 3. That the City Council shall have the authority to appoint,
replace and remove members.
4. That the following members are hereby appointed to serve
18 on the Buena Vista Lagoon Watershed Coordinating Committee:
Richard Chick, Council Member

21 Pearl Tade, Citizen

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad held the 4th day of
3 January , 1983, by the following vote, to wit:

6 . ABSENT: None
