I ITEM EXPLANATION:
On February 1, 1983 per Resolution No. 7126, Council authotized the advertisement for bids of. the Grand Avenue Waterline Replacement. On February 25, 1983, two bids were received and opened:
1. G.R. Henderson ....................... $14,268 2. N.A. & J. Frank Artukovich ........... $12,702
The Engineer's estimate for this project is $14,000. References for
the low bidder were checked and found to be acceptable.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$50,000 has been budgeted in Account No. 41-18-60-3127 for various
pi.peline replacements. $20,000 of that amount was designated for the Grand Avenue Waterli ne Replacement. I EXHIBITS:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING
THE GRAND AVENUE WATERLINE REPLACEMENT CONTRACT NO.
1128 TO N.A, & J, FRANK ARTUKOVICH
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of
Carlsbad for the Grand Avenue Waterline Replacement; and
WHEREAS, the low bid for this work received from N.A. &
J. Frank Artukovich in the amount of $12,702; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No.
41-18-60-3127 for this work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $12,702 by N.A. & J. Frank Artukovich is
hereby accepted and the Mayor.and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute a contract therefore.
. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the
15th day of !?arch , 1983, by the following vote, 'to
wit:
AYES: Council Menters Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Prescott
