RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. -- 7/t53 - approving plans and specifications and
authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the improvement of the alley between Madison and Roosevelt Streets.
* ITEM EXPLANATION:
This project involves the reconstruction and. paving of the alley between Madison and Roosevelt Streets, from Oak to Chestnut Avenues.
This project is exempt from environmental clearances. Utility Companies have been notified.
FISCAL IlJIPACT:
The engineer's estimate for this project is $38,070. This project will be funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Redevelopment. Funds in the amount of $40,000 are available for this project in
Account No. 15-18-90-3717.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR ALLEY
IMPROVEMENT BETWEEN MADISON STREET AND ROOSEVELT STREET FROM
OAK AVENUE TO CHESTNUT AVENUE CONTRACT NO. 3717
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined it is necessary and in the public interest to improve
alley between Madison Streetand Roosevelt Street from Oak Avenue
to Chestnut Avenue.
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the furnishing of
all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and other
expenses necessary or incidental for said project, Contract No.
3717, have been prepared and are on file in the Engineering
Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by
reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The plans and specifications as presented are hereby
approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed ‘to publish, in accordance ,
with law, notice to contractors inviting bids for the alley
improyement in accordance with the specifications hereinabove
referred to.
