PURPOSE OF THE MEETING
The purpose of this workshop is to review the goals of the Redevelopment Plan and discuss significant issues for the future. concern have been identified: Several areas of
1. Architectural Standards: General design criteria for Redevelopment sub-areas;
2. Recommended Uses: Specific land-use objectives for the future.
3. Housing Strategy: Strategy to gain increased residential support for commercial center.
Additional topics may be proposed by participants at the meeting. objective of the discussion is to clarify issues and develop a unity of approach. to Redevelopment.

REDEVELOPMENT PLAN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
PROJECT GOAL
EXHIBIT 1
The overall goal of the Village Area Redevelopment Project is to create a pleasant, attractive, accessable environment for living, shopping, recreation, civic, cultural and service functions through the elimination of blighting influences and through restoration and new, private/public development forms which preserve and enhance the existing character of the Village Area and surrounding communtiy.
I I-c. THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PLAN
11-C-1. Eliminate blight and blighting influences that presently exist
in the project area.
11-C-2. Encourage a variety of residential accommodation and amenity in the Village Area so as to increase the advantages of close-in living and convenient core shopping, toward the end of encouraging a diversity of age, income and ethnic characteristics.
11-C-3. Restrict the highest residential density to areas in or near the Village Center.
Introduce programs to revitalize all areas which are deteriorating or have high potential to become deteriorated.
Provide an organized system of commercial land uses to be grouped in a village setting, rather than a strip or sprawled commercial manner. Such uses should include administrative and professional offices, retail outlets, and public offices.
Provide, within the Village centre, a variety of spaces and locations for specialty, unique, and attractive shops with strong pedestrian orientation. interconnected with attractive pedestrian belts incorporating landscaping and/or unique texture.
11-C-7. Provide a variety of commerical , touris-1, and recreational activity, especially close to the beach, iii conjunction with special entertainment facilities, restaurants and other uses which will foster a village concept and lot drtrinentially impact residential usage.
