ITEM EXPLANATION On March 15, 1983, Council authorized the advertisement for bids for the improvement of the alley between Madison and Roosevelt. Ten sealed bids were received on April 5, 1983 as follows: 1. Southland Sealing & Striping 2. ABC Construction 3. Porter Construction . 4. Robert H. Flora Co. 5. Haas and Juarez 6. Sully Miller 7. Palomar Grading and Paving 8. Addax Const. .Co. 9. Scibilia and Sons 10. T.B. References have been verified on'the low bidder. Staff recommends the award of this contract to Southland Sealing and Striping. FISCAL IMPACT Budgeted funds in the amount of $40,000 (Account #15-18-90-3717) are available for this project. EXHIBITS A. 'IMPROVEMENT BETWEEN MADISON AND ROOSEVELT FROM OAK AVE. WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the improvement of said alley, Contract No. 3717; and WHEREAS, the low bid received for this project was submitted by Southland Sealing and Striping Company, in the amount of $31,723; and WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 15-18-90- ,3717 for this project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows: 1. The above recitations are true and correct. 2.
