ITEM NO. D1: SPEED LIMIT ON MARRON ROAD
Staff Report
Officer Kates of the Police Department requested speed limit
signs be istalled on Marron Road from Avenida de Anita to the
City Limits. Since the road is 25 mph at the residential area at
the east end of Marron Road and since the area just east of El
Camino Real is commercial (25 mph per California Vehicle Code),
the Committee recommended posting 25 mph speed limit signs on
Marron Road from Avenida de Anita to El Camino Real. The
Committee also recommends that a 35 mph speed limit be
established from El Camino Real to the City Limits. A speed
survey taken in the afternoon of July 1, 1983, established the
85th percentile speed, in both directions, as 38 mph.
