SUBJECT: RECOMMENDED CONTINUANCE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR NUISANCE
ABATEMENT - CHAPPEE AUTO WRECKING
Staff has continued to monitor the Chappee Auto Wrecking site
for compliance with his agreement to remove all junk materials
within six months. Since the end of August completes the half-
way point (3 months) of the time period, Staff thoroughly
inspected the site to get a good feel as to whether half the
materials had been removed. It was noted that a good portion of
the center of the site has been completely cleared. In
addition, much of the remaining periphery materials consist of
complete auto bodies which take less time to remove than
numerous small parts.
Staff believes that Mr. Chappee is complying with the schedule
provided in the agreement, and recommends that the public
hearing on this matter be continued to the City Council meeting
of October 4, 1983.
