ITEM EXPLANATION - DEPT. HD.--i.+-~ CITY A TTY,;...::-\,(~::t- CITY MGR. ___ _ The City recently purchased an aerial lift truck that replaced a 1970 Int~rnational lift truck and a brush chipper that replaced a 1970 Wayne brush chipper. Both of the old units are in poor condition an would require extensive repairs for them to be aper.able. In addition to the above mentioned obsolete units, the ~tr~et Division has a 1,000 gallon water tank trailer, purchased in 1979, that is no longer being used and the Water Department has a 1964 Case back hot:! that is in--poor ·condition and is no longer needed. Since all of the equipment needs extensive rep&irs or. is no longer being used, the Equipment Maintenance Superintendent and the Department or Division Heads have recommended the items be declared surplus and be disposed of by sealed bids. The estimated value of the four pieces of equipment is $12,000. FISCAL IMPACT The amount received from the sale of equipment will be deposited in the vehicle replacement fund. EXHIBITS 1. I --,--------✓ -- l 2 3 RESOLUTION NO. 7383 A RESOLUTION Of THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY Of CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITEMS Of EQUIPMENT AS OBSOLETE AND AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL Of SUCH ITEMS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has 4 determined that the following can no longer be used and are 5 obsolete: Alba Water Tank Trailer, Case Diesel Backhoe with front 6 Loader, Wayne Brush Chipper and an International Bucket Boom 7 Truck; and 8 WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the City of Carlsbad to 9 dispose of this equipment. 10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the r•• ll of Carlsbad, California as follows: 12 13 14 1 • 2. J. That th6 above recitation is true and correct. That the items listed in Exhibit A be declared obsolete.
